2022.01.19 10:16 Solid_Hydration Drop pod assault and null-deployment
Surely it has been addressed in FAQ, but I can't find it. Drop pod assault rules state that by default drop pods override maximum number of units that can be put in reserves. However, i cannot null-deploy either, because by default i would be losing with no units on the field in the beginning of the first turn. What is actual rules consensus here, can I put all but one unit in drop pods and reserves, so there is no technical null deployment, but I still have max units out of the field?

2022.01.19 10:15 MiDusa Wholesome moment in ranked today
I was playing ranked this morning. Got into a lobby. I’m an adc main but I had gotten support. Sol is one of my favorite ADCs to play so when my teammate picked her I asked him what starter he gets because I personally always go manikin.
He said he was going manikin and I high fived myself for knowing how to build her. Then out of no where our solo said manikin is only good the first five minutes and gilded arrow is much better. I argued against that and said the early pressure from manikin helps you stay ahead.
At that point our sol said that he was diamond 1 called the chacc an idiot and I promptly told him “solos shouldn’t comment on adc builds”. That was when Chacc said “I forgot what elo I’m in” then a rank flexing back and forth ensued.
We get into the match the Sol goes gilded. And sure enough we lose early pressure. However as the match went on and sol got further and further into her build she upgraded to diamond arrow. We went on to win the match then in the lobby she said “Chacc was right. I felt so much better with diamond arrow late game” then she apologized to the Chacc and he said “it’s almost like I know what I’m talking about”
The moment felt really wholesome to me especially since the Sol apologized and admitted that she was wrong. I personally wouldn’t go gilded on my sol because I just love the early damage so much but nevertheless it was refreshing to witness.

2022.01.19 10:15 Keiffo It would have been nice if Jagex delayed Leagues III to iron out these bugs
With the release of Group Ironman tons of players were preoccupied anyway. Delaying Leagues III would have been a good call although a bit controversial. Guess we'll never know now.
Just think of all the time they'd have to ensure a flawless launch though.

2022.01.19 10:15 ac3three Kitchen vent noise when it's windy.
I have recently bought a new apartment and installed a kitchen with an integrated cooker hood. When it's windy outside i guess pressure is formed and it's starting to sucking air from kitchen like vacuum cleaner. I tried to replace a plastic backdraft damper with a steel springloaded one, but suction still opens it. Our apartment has supply and exhaust air ventilation, but the kitchen vent goes straight to the roof. I'm thinking about installing some shield on the roof to cover an exhaust duct and maybe installing another damper at the end of the duct, but i don't know whether it will help?
I'll try to attach picture and video below.
Please excuse my poor English.

2022.01.19 10:15 KeepItRiDGiD129 StoryFire | Beyond the "cult and obsessed fan" reputation, to poor user and community discoverability.
(Read the bold for summary notes.)
There is more than one community on StoryFire, and the obsessed "cult" fans are not as large of a group as you'd think.
StoryFire has a reputation of housing completely obsessed fans of Jesse's and the RiDGiD STUDiOS atmosphere. I see them from time to time, and they aren't much different than what you see on Twitter, and they're smarter than the Facebook audience. (Facebook audience is in 2019 year right now, they aren't clearly up to date in 2022, or 2020.) However, what I want to say about StoryFire is that there is more than one community. There are communities and people who never heard of Jesse, or just don't care enough to watch his stuff but enjoy the platform. Hear me out.
What I found is that StoryFire has a couple of different communities. Sure, 1.) a lot of them watch Jesse's content, either every video, or they tend to skip. And then, following that, 2.) there are people who kinda know of Jesse, and then 3.) you have the people who legit don't know Jesse. It's actually amazing, if you ask me.
I ran into a few people who never heard or watched Jesse, and I asked them what brought them onto StoryFire, and a few answers that I got was that people just liked writing stories and StoryFire had the function(s) that suited what they needed. They don't know about Deckchair, or don't know a lot about it, nor do they really care. Although, that group of people is pretty secluded - which probably explains a lot.
I also found that there is a community of shitposters who just post memes and have fun. They interact with the community, they post hot takes, and they just do their thing and leave the MJN side of things alone.
And then there is the group of people who are in the archaic 2017 users community, just a bunch of OG's who are living life as if it's 2020 on StoryFire, completely unaware that there are other communities that exist. I followed a bunch of other day-1 people and other 2017 people, and clearly we never really got the message that much change was really happening other than what was going on in front of us. I had zero clue other communities existed until a prominent user approached me asking what I knew about the rogue mods. (That conversation promoted a nearly 4 hour Discord call, because I was genuinely surprised there was more than one side to StoryFire that others and I never observed.)
Now there is a reason why this happens. When you join StoryFire, it isn't like Twitter where you don't have to follow people and you see content from other users. On StoryFire, if you follow no one, it's really hard to find friends or find active communities communities - excluding Jesse's own. This is primarily due to StoryFire's complete lack of user discoverability. I was talking to one of the guys who joined back in 2020, he's part of the post-Marketing Push era of the community and is one of the shitposting guys. He told me that when he joined, it was pretty hard to find people and other communities because StoryFire gave no real avenues to follow everyday users, other than a ton of verified ones that have no substance. StoryFire is like this: imagine joining Reddit for the first time. You know there are hundreds of thousands of subreddits for you to join. The problem is, after you register, you are given zero way to really find those subreddits easily. You need to find people who know of the subreddits or are in them, and then integrate yourself in with the community by following a ton of people. That's StoryFire and how it functions.
I guess the main thing is, people will assume StoryFire is full of obsessed fans and MJN worshippers. It's very easy to see this because Jesse owns the platform and a lot of the obsessed fans constantly interact with this posts. However, after everything I've seen, I want to say that while it's not farthest from the truth, it certainly is not entirely true. I've been talking about this since 2019, but my biggest question is, what other communities are there on StoryFire that we can't observe or see? It's really hard to find other communities on StoryFire because there is no easy way to find them. There's no "bridge" that connects one community or group of users to another. StoryFire has communities that are in their own bubble world, they don't know there are other communities, or they do but can't fully integrate. What StoryFire needs is a subreddit-like system where users can form new "pages" and they can all gather around there. That would truly help user and community discoverability from the bubble world void we have now.
